Journal: What do you know about Africa from what you hear/see in the media? Do you think this is an accurate portrayal of all of Africa? Why or why not?

Objective: Explain basics of issues facing Africa and explain the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.

Classwork: Watch (edited) clips of Hotel Rwanda and answer questions. We will have to finish the last 20 minutes next class period. If you were absent, the movie can be found on Netflix.

Homework: Read pages 529-533 in your textbook.
